Lord Nelson's Funeral Procession - 1806

1780-1799: France & Beckwith– A firm of upholders (undertakers) is listed in the London Directories at 101 St. Martin’s Lane

1806-1810: W. France of 31 Pall Mall is listed as upholder to His Majesty.

1812-1825: France & Banting are listed at 22 Pall Mall and are shown as upholders to His Majesty. The Royal Appointment ceases there after.

1826-1844: The France Family is listed and re-titled as undertakers with addresses in Denmark Street & Little Compton Street, Soho

1844-1866: Henry France: Carriage Master and undertaker is listed at 111 Wardour Street.

1867: Albert Harrison France, Son of Henry, moved to The Seven Dials.

1898: Albert, son of Albert Harrison France, moves with his family to 45 Lamb’s Conduit Street, the Head office of A. France & Son. Albert’s son Bernard Thomas joined his father as have the next two generations, namely Bernard Anthony and his son Michael.
